No longer babies, and not yet teenagers, 8 to 11 year-old kids are fine-tuning their personalities, including their individual tastes in hobbies, music and other interests.

They enjoy playing fast paced games, including video and computer games. They also may find an appeal in collecting, or undertaking more challenging hobbies like model building or beading.

These are also the years to further develop any interest they might have in music, art or science.
