| Customer Reviews: Great alternative to candyland February 23, 2009 Mitsea (NorCal) Hachoo is a great game for preschoolers, it's easy and requires only that children know their numbers (or that someone tells them what number is on the card.) The premise is simple, all of the players are sick and in order to bring their temperature down they need to use each one of their cards by matching it to squares on the board. On the cards are things that help them feel better; tissues, sleep, cough medicine, doctor, orange juice, or get well pills. For each card that they use, they bring their temperature down one degree. Whoever gets better first wins. This is a fast playing game, about 10-15 minutes to play a game with 4 players. Like many games, this game only allows for 4 players, which is aggrevating for a family of five.
This game comes in interesting packaging, when you take off the lid, the box unfolds into the game board. It is a space saving idea, however because of all the folds required to keep the box stable, the game board never lies very flat. A minor annoyance, but worth noting.
I have three girls ages 3, 5, and 11 and we play games every night before bed. This is a game that we play fairly often because my older daughter doesn't dislike it the way she does candyland or chutes and ladders.
Hachoo is fast, easy, and enjoyable to the younger set, while not annoying older siblings or parents too terribly much. That makes it a winner in my book.
