Great Interactive game August 8, 2009 A. Cleveland (usa) This is a great memory game that goes beyond just matching cards. It is fun to search for the various pieces and try to remember where they were. It is very engaging for my 3 year old. I appreciated the clear directions. I would recommend this game!
Great game - works on lots of skills - good for homes with younger siblings too August 9, 2009 Fiona Bessey-Bushnell (VA USA) This game works on lots of skills: turn taking, fine motor skills, color and shape recognition, preliteracy, counting - oh, and what it was designed for - memory! My 3 1/2 year old loves this game, and it holds his attention for an extended period of time.
The best part though, is that even though it is not intended for those under 3, there are minimal small parts, which is helpful if a younger sibling is in the household. Yes, if you left a youngster under 3 unsupervised or had a child who was particularly interested in chewing, I could see how parts could get lost, or how a random playing card might get gummed. But most of the parts are contained in the box under a special liner. So many of the other games out there for this preschooler age group have TONS of small pieces (beans, cherries, etc.) My 21 month old is not particuarly interested in this game (other than sitting on the spinner so his brother can't play), but it is so much easier to have this game out and not constantly be the safety patrol for tiny pieces.
The playing card shapes are a little odd (stylized triangles), presumably designed for easy pick up, although I am not sure this was accomplished in the design. It would have been nice if they were made of a little heavier paper or cardboard, although for me this does not detract from the overall game. Also, if your preschooler happens to play this game with an adult card shuffling aficionado, they may be disappointed in the card shape since it is not conducive to shuffling! :0)
Discover fun! October 30, 2009 T. Hintz (Seattle, WA) I just got this game for my son (2 1/2), and he is really enjoying it! He loves to shake it up, and to see what he can find. He's very curious to see where things go, and being the one to "find" them. I agree with another reviewer that the cards could be a little heavier, and there were a few items (the ring) that were hard to find for me - but that's what I think makes it fun, is that adults have a challenge at it too! It's always different, and keeps not only the kiddos but the adults entertained. A great family game.
Curious George Discovery Beach November 15, 2009 Becky H Cool, unique game that is perfect for little people who love a treasure hunt. It was great to see my little guy realize he had seen one of the objects in a different window. The wave mixes it up a bit so it's beyond a game of memory.
Discovery zzbeach Game Review November 18, 2009 J. Testa My girls ages 2, 7, 9, have had a great time playing this game. The 2 year doesn't understand the concept yet, but loves to try and find the things. It is a great alternative to the regular matching game. The puzzle like pieces are hard to remove at first, but once they are broken in a little they are fine.
