One of the best toys October 19, 2007 Jacob Sorensen (Hillsboro, OR USA) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
We have two children, 4 and 2, and originally got these for the younger one for his first birthday. Even then, he could use the blocks a bit because they are easy to put together. In the year and a half since then, they have steadily become the most-played with of all our kids' toys and show no sign of losing popularity. Both kids love to play with them so much that we've realized it's time to get a bunch more so they won't have to share as much (and I can build even taller towers).
These blocks don't stick together as tightly as Legos, but that also means they're easy for kids to take apart, which is often what they love doing. They've been quite durable, and the storage bag has even held up well for being used so much. The stitching is starting to come apart around the zipper, but what can you expect for being used almost every day for over a year?
Our son's favorite toy December 29, 2007 1fastdoc (North Carolina) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
We picked up this set as well as a 40 pc set from local stores and our son, who is 18 months old loves stacking them and then taking them apart.
We also have two other small sets that he got for his 1st birthday and all 150 pieces will fit into this 80 piece bag, which is very nice for storage.
Keep an eye out for prices though. We picked up this 80 piece set with a $5 dollar off coupon at Baby's r Us for a total of $12. The 40 piece set at Toy's r Us was $10.
I love Amazon but the $45 price tag I see on this set today is a bit ridiculous.
A Great Sharing Toy for Siblings September 1, 2008 B. A. Chaney (Baltimore, MD USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought these blocks for my 14 month old nephew before a trip to the beach earlier this month. I thought the blocks would be a good quiet day toy/activity for him. Not only did my nephew get a lot of enjoyment out of these blocks, but his four and a half year old sister did as well.
Both kids really enjoyed playing with these blocks individually and together. The blocks are big, making them easy for small hands to build with. This package includes enough blocks to build a fairly big structure, and the variability in shapes of blocks helps the kids to understand how building works--ie you can't stack big blocks on top of little blocks or they fall over. The blocks were also fun for the adults to play with.
I would recommend these blocks to anyone looking for a gift for siblings in the preschool age range. My niece and nephew definitely got my money's worth out of these--they were the highlight of the trip!
Fun for the whole family! December 18, 2007 MDSO13 (NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got these blocks way before my son was 1 years old. At first he showed NO interest, at times he would bite them. (My husband was much interested in the blocks). But now he tries to put the pieces together or he likes the noise that it makes when the blocks are in the bag and he shakes it. It's intertaining for the whole family, at times all of us are sitting around playing with the blocks.
i love these December 28, 2008 amonkeysmom06 (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love simple toys like these. No batteries, nothing to put together, but lots of fun. I bought these for my 2 year old son. They're always the first thing he goes to play with in the morning. I also like the plastic bag so they all can be put away, and easy to take anywhere.
