I wondered what a "quiet" rattle would sound like. Muffled, that's how it sounds. Anyway, the rattle is soft, cute and exactly how its described. Its better than the hard plastic ones because babies always end up cracking themselves on the noggin with those. Nothing quiet about that.
Baby Lizy gives it a thumbs up... sideways... down... in her ear! Oh well, so much for asking and infant for input.

We call ours Sheepy and it's my baby girls comfort toy. One of her first words was "Sheepy". Sheepy looks the worse for wear but washes well. We are getting a backup Sheepy just in case.
